The agrivoltaics conference held in India on 21–23 October 2026 focused on combining crop cultivation with solar generation. Keeping both activities workable requires more than putting panels over a field.
Farm-specific questions include the crop’s response to shade, panel height and spacing, access for machinery, drainage, water harvesting and maintenance. A design that suits one crop, climate or holding size may not suit another. Ask for locally relevant technical evidence and a written project design.
The discussions included future support under the next phase of PM-KUSUM and opportunities to train rural workers in installation, operation and maintenance. Conference proposals should not be described as an approved subsidy entitlement or an open recruitment scheme.
Before agreeing to a project, check the current state implementing agency’s rules, land-use terms, grid connection, payment arrangements and who bears repair costs. A community discussion can compare practical experience and official project documents without promising additional income or a fixed return for every farmer.
