      Qaskme editorial answer

Use the latest WHO, Africa CDC, ECDC and national health-authority notices rather than treating an undated summary as a current map of risk. The ECDC bulletin dated 23 October 2026 describes the Bundibugyo-virus outbreak and investigations concerning imported cases and contacts.

Its country histories are not identical. For example, the bulletin distinguishes Uganda’s earlier outbreak, declared over by WHO on 27 August, from later information about cases reported elsewhere. A report that someone travelled through a country does not, on its own, establish sustained local transmission there.

Coordinated surveillance, laboratory confirmation, contact follow-up and public-health communication help authorities understand and respond to spread. Case counts and control measures can change, so this discussion deliberately does not present old figures as a live dashboard.

For travel or possible exposure, consult current official advice and a qualified healthcare service. Community replies should link dated primary updates and avoid diagnosing another user or recommending unverified treatments. This discussion is about reading public-health information responsibly.
