South Eastern Railway’s sports-quota notice for 2026–27 is aimed at eligible sportspersons, not everyone seeking a railway post. Before starting the form, check three separate things: the advertised sport and playing position, your recognised sporting achievement, and the education required for the pay level.
Dates and 54 posts
Online applications open 31 October 2026 and close 30 November 2026 at 23:59. The notice divides 54 seats into 5 Group C posts in Levels 4/5, 16 Group C posts in Levels 2/3 and 33 Group D posts in Level 1. Trials are to be announced on RRC South Eastern Railway’s website; the advertisement does not give a confirmed trial date.

Age, education and recognised achievements
Applicants must be 18–25 on 1 January 2027; the notice states no upper or lower age relaxation. It gives the permitted birth range as 2 January 2002 to 1 January 2009. Academic qualifications must already be held when applying; final-result-awaiting candidates are not eligible under this notice.
Levels 4/5 require a recognised university degree or equivalent. Levels 2/3 allow the stated 12th-pass route or the specified 10th-plus-apprenticeship/ITI/NAC routes, according to the post offered. Level 1 requires 10th pass, ITI, equivalent or NCVT-granted NAC as stated. Read the special Technician-III provision and training condition before assuming that one education route fits every eventual post.
General sporting standards vary with level. Levels 4/5 include the listed Olympic representation or qualifying international medals. Levels 2/3 include specified international representation, qualifying national/inter-university achievements and the listed Federation Cup standard. Level 1 has its own international, Federation Cup and State-representation routes. The detailed notification lists the recognised junior championships and age groups; an event’s familiar name alone is not proof that it qualifies.
Achievements must be from events concluded on or after 1 April 2024 and meet the applicable recognition rules. Read the sport-specific exceptions: chess Grandmaster and table-tennis ranking routes, athletics/hockey/archery and rifle-shooting conditions, cricket competition stages, and golf ranking/handicap rules. The notice places specific restrictions on certain volleyball and bodybuilding certificates. These are eligibility rules, not details to leave until trial day.
How trial and certificate marks work
The published 100-mark assessment allocates 50 marks to recognised sporting achievements, 40 to trial performance and 10 to education. The trial requires at least 25 marks. The overall qualifying thresholds are 70 for the Grade Pay 2400/2800 category,65 for 1900/2000 and 60 for 1800. Meeting a threshold does not guarantee selection; selection depends on merit for the notified discipline/position. The notice gives preference to the younger candidate if sporting candidates in a discipline finish with equal marks.
Fees and documents
The stated application fee is Rs 500 for UR/OBC, with a Rs 400 refundable portion for eligible trial attendees. It is Rs 250 for the listed SC/ST, ex-servicemen, PwD, women, minority and economically-backward categories, with the stated refund for eligible attendees. Bank charges apply as described. Read the exact eligibility and bank-detail conditions before paying.
Prepare your recent colour photograph(up to 70 KB), signature and left-thumb impression(JPG/JPEG,10–40 KB)to the notification’s dimensions and resolution. Other supporting documents are PDFs: government photo ID, education and birth-date evidence, recognised sports certificates and applicable community, income, ex-service or declaration documents. Documents in another language need the specified attested English/Hindi translation. Do not upload these private documents to a public discussion.
Submit carefully and keep proof

Duplicate, late, unpaid, incomplete or ineligible applications may be rejected.
