The total is six UR and one OBC post. These are different academic and technical roles, not seven identical teaching vacancies.
Read the post-specific qualification column
The Associate Professor route includes a relevant PhD, master’s degree with at least 55%, eight years’ qualifying teaching/research experience, the stated publication/research-score conditions and knowledge of Sanskrit.
The Assistant Professor routes use the advertised relevant-subject master’s requirement and NET/SLET/SET or qualifying PhD-exemption/alternative provisions. Table 2 defines the acceptable subjects; a general degree title alone does not establish the required Veda, Vyakaran or Jyotish specialisation.
The Assistant Librarian role has its own library/information/documentation qualification and NET/PhD conditions. Computer Programmer has the specified BE/BTech route with five years’ programming experience, or the listed postgraduate route with three years; both carry the 55% marks/equivalence condition. Its stated age limit is 45.
Application portals and printed-copy step
- Open the current BHU RAC listing and select the updated Vedic Science entry.
- Use its CU-Chayan link for the relevant academic posts. The listing gives a separate BHU non-teaching Samarth link for Computer Programmer.
- Submit the correct post-specific form and fee, where applicable, before 12 November at 5 PM. Separate posts require separate applications.
- Download, sign and send the application and required enclosures to Office of the Registrar, Recruitment & Assessment Cell, Holkar House, BHU, Varanasi – 221005, for receipt by 17 November at 5 PM. Follow the employer-forwarding/NOC provisions if employed.
Fee wording and earlier applicants
The opening fee box specifies ₹1,000 for UR/OBC teaching and Group A applicants, exempting SC/ST/PwBD. The later general instructions additionally exempt women and transgender candidates. These sections are not identically worded; check the portal and RAC for your exemption before paying.
The updated notice says applicants who applied under the 8 April 2026 version may apply afresh or update their form without paying the fee again. It separately withdraws the specified older deputation recruitment and describes a refund route.
