Who can apply for the IT and Media Consultant role?
The IT and Media role requires B.Tech/B.E. in Information Technology or M.Sc. in Information Technology, good MS Office knowledge and more than three years and up to five years of relevant IT experience. The circular also gives an alternative route for retired government employees with grade pay of ₹4,600 or above, MS Office knowledge and the specified relevant experience.
Web content creation and management, backend support and communication in both Hindi and English are desirable. The work includes maintaining the website, updating social-media content, supporting system integration and advising on IT hardware, software and new technology.
What about the design and animal-welfare roles?
Zoo Design: the listed architecture/civil-engineering qualifications include B.Arch., B.Tech. (Civil), M.Arch., M.Tech. (Civil) or a relevant Ph.D. The experience band is more than ten years and up to fifteen years in architectural design. Architects must hold valid Council of Architecture registration. The retired-government route specifies grade pay of ₹8,700 or above and the relevant experience band.
Animal Health and Welfare: the qualification is a bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, MS Office knowledge and more than five years and up to ten years of animal-care and treatment experience. A separate retired-government route specifies grade pay of ₹6,600 or above and relevant experience. A relevant master’s degree and zoo or wildlife experience are desirable.
Age limit and contract conditions
The maximum age is 65 for all consultant categories. Initial engagement can be up to three years through a 1+1+1 arrangement subject to performance and usefulness; continuation beyond three years, for up to two additional years, needs approval. Other assignments are not permitted during this full-time consultancy. Fees, allowances and retired-employee payments are subject to the detailed circular; the stated fees should not be treated as take-home salary.

- Enter the exact consultant post, qualifications and employment history. Add the requested photograph, self-attested degree certificates as applicable, experience evidence and age proof.
- Email the completed application to nzpzoo-cza@nic.in, or submit by registered post/by hand to The Director, National Zoological Park, Mathura Road, New Delhi – 110003.
- Ensure it is received by 22 November 2026 at 6:00 PM. Save proof of delivery.
Applications are scrutinised and shortlisted for interview. The circular says interview communication will be by email and no TA/DA is payable for interview or joining.
